FRONT OF HOUSE

Whilst working in the Front of house area you will learn how to greet, serve and take customer orders, prepare a selection of hot and cold drinks, restocking the selection of cakes on display and also clearing and cleaning tables after customers in preparation for new customers to arrive.

FOOD PREPARATION

In the food preparation part of this work preparation area you will learn how to cook and put together food items on the menu to serve to the customers using a range of catering style appliances. You will help order and replenish food stock whilst learning a range of hospitality and catering skills.

CLEANING AND HYGIENE

In this part of the work preparation learning you will learn the importance of keeping the behind the scenes area of the coffee shop clean. This will include washing up, using an industrial dishwasher and packing items away.

Organising washing up, dishwashing, packing away, organising racking, cleaning, end of day procedures.

This cafe is utterly charming. We have been coming here for years, when the rules allow. The first visit was experimental as this is run by a charity. The experiment was a success as the food was freshly prepared and delicious.
Today we wanted a brunch breakfast and that we got. The premises were spotless. Admittedly we are pensioners and don’t have huge appetites but sadly, I had to leave half my sausage, some beans and tomato. The bacon was cooked just to my liking. I am a butter fiend, so could have done with one more small pot.
